Too deep For Tears by Kathryn Lynn Davis review written by Sarafina Robi. |
It was written shortly after the Renaissance period (I love refereeing to this times) that's in the 1800s. its about three sisters, one father and three different exotic mothers from different ends of the world, whose lives are woven back to one point. It a tapestry of cultures brought out by their father through their different mothers. Their story? ...Lets take a sip of water, its sad, its emotionally draining, keeps you hooked from beginning to end but most importantly..(you should read to know how it ends).
Their dad is a an English diplomat who first falls in love with a Scottish beauty, due to drastic saddening events that happen he ends up moving to china where he falls in love with a lady and gets his second child, then India and gets the third child but ends up returning to the beautiful hills of Scotland. the peaceful glen and to his first lover.
The most fascinating stories are those of his daughters and how they end up meeting.
This book took me to the beautiful hills of Scotland, China, India and back to Scotland. Taught me the beauty of the hills( specially an enclosed glen), the homely croft at Mairi's and I enjoyed the poems in it.
Every delicate stroke of ink would remind me of it.
I cant name all the characters but it is a beauty.
This was my 6th book of the year, and I just felt like writing something about it after I ran into it while looking for a book to read in my collection and it gave me memories, of how I felt while reading it.
If you've read it too share your views in the comment box and any recommendations of books I can read.
